Nigerian forward Aliyu Ibrahim has officially joined Major League Soccer (MLS) side Columbus Crew. The talented striker made the move from another MLS club, Houston Dynamo FC, in a cash deal.
Columbus Crew paid $450,000 to sign Ibrahim, with the total fee possibly increasing to $750,000 depending on his performance. Houston Dynamo will also receive a percentage of any future transfer fee if Ibrahim is sold again.
The 22-year-old signed a one-year contract with Columbus, with an option to extend it for another two years.
Columbus Crew’s General Manager, Issa, expressed excitement about the signing, saying that Ibrahim is a young and energetic player who brings experience from both the MLS and international level. He added that Ibrahim will add more depth and strength to the team’s attack.
“We’re happy to welcome Aliyu to Columbus and can’t wait to see him on the pitch,” Issa said on the club’s official website.
