Man hacks Reverend Sister to death in Rivers to avoid paying debt

A man named Kelvin Okoro has been arrested in Aluu, a community in the Ikwerre area of Rivers State, for allegedly killing a Reverend Sister named Maureen Wecheonwu.

According to reports, Okoro owed the Reverend Sister a large sum of money. She had been asking him to repay the debt for a long time. He pretended that he was finally ready to pay her back and invited her to meet him. But instead of settling the debt, he led her to a quiet place and attacked her.

Locals later found the Reverend Sister’s body in a pool of blood and informed a local security group. It was reported that Okoro hit her many times with a hard object, leading to her death.

After the incident, Okoro went into hiding. People noticed he was missing and suspected something was wrong. A search was launched by a local vigilante group called OSPAC. The group’s leader, Kingsley Wali, led the team that found and arrested Okoro.

It was also discovered that Okoro took some personal belongings of the late Reverend Sister.

The police spokesperson in Rivers State, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident. She said that the case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
