A small police plane has crashed into the sea in Thailand, killing all six people on board. The crash happened around 8:25 AM on Friday, April 25, near Hua Hin Airport, close to the coast of Cha-am in southwest Thailand.
All six people were police officers, including the pilot. They were on a test flight for a parachute jump training exercise.
The Royal Thai Police shared their sadness and offered condolences to the families. They said that four officers died at the crash site, while the other two were taken to the hospital but could not be saved.
Emergency teams rushed to the area after fishermen saw the plane fall from the sky and called for help. The plane crashed about 100 meters from the shore, near the Baby Grand Cha-am Resort.
The national police chief, General Kittirat Phanphet, went to the scene to lead the investigation. He said that the families of the victims will get full support and help with funeral arrangements.
Photos from the scene show the wreckage in the water and emergency crews working hard to help. The type of aircraft has not yet been shared with the public.
This tragic event is one of several fatal air accidents this year. A helicopter crash in New York City recently killed a family of five, and well-known stunt pilot Rob Holland also died in a crash in Virginia earlier this week.
