Nigerians have shared mixed reactions after a top government official praised First Lady Remi Tinubu for kneeling to greet a respected Yoruba elder.
Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to President Bola Tinubu, recently posted a photo of the First Lady kneeling before Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of Afenifere, in Akure, Ondo State. He praised her for showing “humility.”
However, many Nigerians on social media were not pleased with the post. Some said that a government official should not be sharing or praising such personal acts, especially when there are more important national issues to talk about. They believe the post was unnecessary and not related to governance.
This incident has sparked a conversation online about what government officials should focus on when communicating with the public.
