Football expert Richard Keys has shared his opinion on who should be the next Manchester United manager if the club decides to let go of Ruben Amorim.

Amorim has been struggling in the Premier League this season. Man United recently lost 1-0 to Wolves at Old Trafford, marking their 15th league defeat. With just five games left, the team is sitting in 14th place on the table.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS, Keys questioned whether Amorim is the right man to rebuild the team with another £250 million budget. He believes Gareth Southgate, the current England manager, would be a better choice.

Keys praised Southgate for leading England to two European Championship finals, including Euro 2024 where they lost to Spain. He also said Southgate understands what today’s players need and knows how to motivate them.

“He understands modern players and what they need to feel good about themselves, their team, and their club,” Keys said. “He’s a master of motivation and knows how to manage players well.”

According to Keys, Southgate has the right qualities to take on the job at Manchester United.
