‘Ijaws not weak’ – Eze warns Wike, alleges plot to destabilse Bayelsa PDP

A top member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has warned Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, not to confuse the peaceful attitude of the Ijaw people with weakness.

Eze urged Wike to stop interfering in Bayelsa State politics, saying the people of Bayelsa don’t support betrayal, violence, or bitter politics.

He advised Wike to rethink what he described as a dangerous plan that could cause problems for Governor Douye Diri’s administration in Bayelsa. According to Eze, the governor acted wisely by stopping Wike’s alleged attempt to bring political violence and chaos to the state.

Eze also claimed that Wike is trying to repeat the political crisis seen in Rivers State—where some leaders were suspended—by encouraging similar unrest in Bayelsa. He warned that the plan to create violence and push for a state of emergency in Bayelsa will not work.

He called on Governor Diri not to stand by and allow Wike to carry out harmful actions in the state. Eze also advised Wike to give up any plans of creating crisis in the Bayelsa chapter of the PDP just to gain influence.

Eze made it clear that even though the Ijaw people are peaceful, they should not be taken for granted. He said no one has the right to cause trouble in the name of dirty politics.

He concluded by saying that instead of focusing on Bayelsa, Wike should be concerned about the violence happening in other parts of Nigeria and advise President Tinubu properly.
