Nigerian music star Kingsley Okonkwo, better known as Kcee, recently talked about his strong bond with his younger brother, billionaire businessman Emeka Okonkwo, also known as E-Money.
During an interview on the Tea With Tay podcast, Kcee shared that he became successful before E-Money. In fact, E-Money once worked as his manager when he was part of the music duo KC-Presh. Kcee said he even helped sponsor E-Money’s wedding at that time.
However, E-Money later ventured into business and started making more money than him. Kcee admitted that while artists sometimes make money from hit songs, businessmen like E-Money earn consistent income from investments.
Kcee also shared how deep their brotherly bond is. He recalled holding E-Money’s hand and crying tears of joy when he was born. He even stayed at the hospital with him for three days as a baby. Growing up, the two were very close.
He revealed that he gave his brother the nickname “E-Money.” Back then, he used the name “K-Money” while his music partner Prech was called “P-Money.” E-Money wasn’t rich yet, but they believed that calling him E-Money would attract wealth—and it eventually did.
Even after E-Money became famous, Kcee continued to mention him in his songs. Some people advised him to stop, fearing E-Money would overshadow him. But Kcee said he never felt jealous and was proud of his brother’s success.
