Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have arrested 88 people during a large night operation. The raids happened late Friday around 11:40 p.m. and were carried out by officers from several police divisions, including Lokogoma, Maitama, Wuse, Kubwa, Gwagwa, Dutse Alhaji, Karmo, Dawaki, Wuye, Utako, and Bwari.
The police focused on known crime spots and unfinished buildings that are believed to be used by criminals as hideouts.
During the operation, officers found dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp and other illegal substances. All the suspects are currently in police custody. They are being screened and questioned at different police stations.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, anyone found guilty of a crime will be taken to court. Those found innocent will be released after the investigation.
