Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has signed a new two-year deal with the club. The new contract will pay him £375,000 a week, making it one of the biggest deals in the club’s history. This ends a long-running contract situation that had fans worried.
Usually, Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, don’t offer big contracts to players over 30. But they made an exception for Salah because of his amazing performances over the years.
Salah said he’s excited to stay at the club. “We have a great team, and I believe we can win more trophies,” he told the club website. “I’ve enjoyed my time here. These have been the best years of my career, and I hope the next two years will be even better.”
He also thanked the fans and promised to keep giving his best. “I’m very happy to be here. I believe we can win more big trophies together. Keep supporting us!”
Salah is now Liverpool’s third top scorer of all time with 243 goals in 394 games. This season, he also set a club record with 17 assists in the Premier League.
To become the club’s all-time top scorer, he needs 103 more goals to beat Ian Rush’s record.
Since joining Liverpool, Salah has won many trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup (twice), UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and Community Shield.
