Iran Lays Out “Red Lines” Ahead of Nuclear Talks with the US following Trump’s threats of military action

Iran has made its position clear before starting nuclear discussions with the United States. According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Tehran has listed some firm conditions, also called “red lines,” for the upcoming talks.

Iran says it will not accept any threats from President Trump’s administration. It also rejects what it calls “too many demands” about its nuclear program. One of Iran’s key concerns is that the U.S. should not bring up its defense industry, including its missile program. Many U.S. allies in the Middle East see Iran’s missiles as a threat.

These talks are happening after President Trump brought back his “maximum pressure” policy in February. This includes trying to stop Iran from exporting oil and gaining access to long-range missiles.

Iranian and American teams are expected to arrive in Muscat, Oman, on Saturday morning. Indirect talks will likely begin after a meeting with Oman’s foreign minister. But President Trump has said he wants the talks to be direct.

This situation shows how both sides are preparing for tough discussions.
