The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has stopped the Warri-Itakpe train service for three days. This was announced by the company’s Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, on Thursday through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to the statement, the train service is being paused for 72 hours because of an engine failure that happened on Tuesday, April 9, 2025.
The NRC said the break in service will give their technical team time to do a complete check-up of the train system, fix the engine problem, and make sure the service is safe and reliable for passengers.
The public relations officer, Henrietta Eregare, signed the statement and assured travelers that the service will return once everything is in good working order.
