Nyesom Wike, the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former governor of Rivers State, recently hosted a dinner for the suspended Rivers State lawmakers in the UK.

This meeting comes amid the suspension of the state assembly and increasing calls for a state of emergency in Rivers.

The meeting was led by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule. His special assistant confirmed the visit, noting that the purpose of the trip was to gather new ideas to improve how the state legislature operates.
