Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, who served as the political adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has officially resigned from his position.
According to DailyTrust, he submitted his resignation about two weeks ago. He didn’t give detailed reasons for his decision, only mentioning that it was due to personal reasons.
Dr. Baba-Ahmed was appointed in September 2023 as the Special Adviser on Political Matters in the Office of Vice President Kashim Shettima. Since then, he has represented the government at several events.
One of his recent appearances was at a national conference held in Abuja in January 2025. The event focused on improving Nigeria’s democracy and promoting good governance and political integrity.
His resignation marks the end of his service in this role after about 17 months.
