Kylian Mbappe has reached a major milestone at Real Madrid. The French striker has equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal tally in his debut season with the club.

Mbappe scored twice as Real Madrid secured a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Leganes on Saturday. He converted a penalty to put Madrid ahead, but Leganes quickly responded with a goal from Diego Garcia. Before halftime, Dani Raba gave Leganes the lead.

After the break, Jude Bellingham scored to bring Madrid level, and then Mbappe added his second goal of the match. This marked his 33rd goal of the season in all competitions.

Only Iván Zamorano has scored more in his first season with Real Madrid, with 37 goals.

Mbappe expressed his excitement, telling Real Madrid TV, “It’s very special. The most important thing is the team, but matching Cristiano’s record is amazing. We know how much he means to Real Madrid and to me. He always gives me advice.”

So far, Mbappe has netted 22 goals in La Liga and 33 in total across 45 matches. With the season still ongoing, he has a chance to set a new record.
