Osun: PDP aspirant, Fayose vows to unseat Oyebanji in 2026.

Otunba Emmanuel Ajisafe Fayose, popularly known as DOME, has declared his intention to contest against Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the 2026 Ekiti gubernatorial election.

Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), criticized the governor’s performance, stating that the people of Ekiti deserve better leadership.

Fayose made these remarks on Friday during his visit to the Ansar-U-Deen Central Mosque in Ado Ekiti. He attended the mosque to show support for Muslims during Ramadan and donated food items and cash gifts to them.

He emphasized the importance of standing by the people and providing relief to struggling families.

Fayose expressed dissatisfaction with the current administration, calling its achievements superficial. He argued that the All Progressives Congress (APC) government had failed to address critical issues such as unemployment, poor infrastructure, and lack of basic amenities.

According to him, many youths in Ekiti have no job opportunities and are forced to ride motorcycles to survive. He also highlighted the rising cost of food and the struggles of families to afford even one meal a day.

“The APC government has not done well at all,” Fayose said. “There are no jobs, no proper roads, no electricity, and no security. A responsible government must ensure people have food and basic needs. We will bring positive change to Ekiti.”

Fayose assured the people of Ekiti that his administration would focus on improving their lives. He promised to create massive employment opportunities, empower youths, and invest in industries and mechanized farming. He urged residents to support his vision and assured them that better days were ahead.

“I understand what you are going through,” he said. “There is hunger in the land, and things are expensive. But with your support, we will make life better for everyone.”

During his visit, the Chief Imam of the mosque appreciated Fayose’s gesture and prayed for his success. He also acknowledged that Muslims had been given more recognition in the current government than in previous ones.

As the 2026 election approaches, Fayose’s campaign is set to focus on providing solutions to the pressing issues in Ekiti State, promising a government that prioritizes the welfare of its people.
