US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, faced backlash after telling a British journalist to “go back to your country.” The incident happened when the Sky News reporter asked her about leaked messages discussing US military plans to attack Houthi targets in Yemen.
The journalist attempted to question Greene, but she quickly became frustrated. She told the reporter, “We don’t give a crap about your opinion and your reporting. Why don’t you go back to your country?” She even pointed at the reporter, who had identified herself as being from the UK.
Greene continued questioning the journalist’s interest in US matters. “You should care about your own borders. Do you care about people from your country?” she asked. She then made a controversial remark, saying, “What about all the women that are raped by migrants, do you care?
This is not the first time Greene has made such comments. In 2022, she told British journalist Siobhan Kennedy from Channel 4 something similar. However, this latest exchange drew even more attention because it was caught on C-SPAN cameras.
As the conversation continued, Greene tried to avoid answering the reporter’s question. She instead called on an American journalist and shifted the discussion toward US military security and former President Donald Trump’s border policies.
The confrontation has sparked criticism, with many questioning Greene’s response to a legitimate journalistic inquiry.
