Chippa United, a club in the South Africa Premier League, is preparing to sell their goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, at the end of the season. The club hopes to use the funds to bring in new players.
Nwabali joined Chippa United three years ago from Katsina United, a team in Nigeria’s NPFL. Since then, he has proven himself as one of the top goalkeepers in South Africa.
Last summer, Nwabali attracted interest from other clubs after his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. However, he chose to stay and signed a new three-year contract with Chippa United, even becoming the team captain.
Now, reports from Kickoff, a South African sports website, suggest that Chippa United is ready to let him go. The club has already identified two goalkeepers who could replace him.
With Nwabali’s talent and experience, it will be interesting to see where he moves next.
