Real Madrid: UEFA investigating Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, Dani Ceballos and Vinicius Jr for ‘indecent conduct’

UEFA has launched an investigation into Real Madrid players Antonio Rudiger, Kylian Mbappe, Dani Ceballos, and Vinicius Jr. for their behavior after the Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid won a tough last-16 match against Atletico Madrid, securing their spot in the quarter-finals after a dramatic penalty shootout. Antonio Rudiger scored the winning penalty, setting up a clash with Arsenal in the next round.

However, UEFA is now reviewing video footage of the post-match celebrations, where the four Real Madrid players are accused of “indecent conduct.” TV cameras appeared to capture Rudiger making a throat-cutting gesture toward the crowd, while Mbappe was allegedly seen grabbing his crotch.

A special UEFA inspector has been assigned to the case. Most of the evidence will come from video footage. Reports suggest that the players are more likely to receive fines rather than match bans.

In the past, UEFA fined Cristiano Ronaldo €20,000 (£16,665) for an obscene gesture while playing for Juventus against Atletico Madrid in 2019. Atletico’s coach, Diego Simeone, received the same fine for a similar act.

It is unclear whether UEFA will decide on the case before Real Madrid’s quarter-final first leg against Arsenal on April 8. The second leg will take place eight days later in Madrid.

For now, fans are waiting to see if UEFA will issue fines or take further action against the Real Madrid stars.
