Putin prayed for Trump after assassination attempt – Witkoff

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff recently shared details of a conversation he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Last summer, Trump was targeted in a shooting while campaigning in Butler, Pennsylvania, as the Republican candidate. Speaking with Tucker Carlson on his podcast, Witkoff said Putin was deeply moved when he heard about the attack.

According to Witkoff, Putin visited his local church, met with his priest, and prayed for Trump. The Russian leader’s gesture, he said, was not because of Trump’s chances in the 2024 election but because of their personal friendship.

Witkoff also mentioned that someone in Trump’s team had once warned him to be careful around Putin due to his past as a KGB officer. However, Witkoff said he does not see Putin as a “bad guy” and described their conversations as personal.

Additionally, Witkoff revealed that Putin had a famous Russian artist create a special portrait of Trump, which he personally delivered to him.

This revelation highlights Putin’s personal connection with Trump, despite ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Russia.
