Mike Tyson, Anthony Joshua, others pay tributes to George Foreman

The boxing world is mourning the loss of George Foreman, a true legend of the sport. Foreman, who passed away at the age of 76, had an incredible career that left a lasting impact on boxing.

His family confirmed his passing on Friday night. Foreman’s achievements include winning a gold medal for the USA at the 1968 Olympics and later becoming one of the most feared heavyweight champions.

He famously fought Muhammad Ali in the legendary ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ and made history in 1994 by becoming the oldest world champion.

Many boxing stars have paid tribute to Foreman. Mike Tyson shared his condolences on X (formerly Twitter), posting pictures of himself with Foreman and writing, “His contribution to boxing and beyond will never be forgotten.”

Veteran boxing promoter Bob Arum also expressed his sorrow, calling Foreman a great friend and saying his passing feels like losing a family member.

Former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew described Foreman as one of the greatest boxers ever, praising his powerful punches. He wrote, “Rest easy, king. The world is a lesser place without you.”

Anthony Joshua, a former heavyweight champion, also honored Foreman by reposting his family’s announcement and writing “RIP Champ” on his Instagram story.

Foreman’s legacy in boxing and beyond will never be forgotten. His contributions to the sport have inspired generations of fighters and fans worldwide.
