Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has praised the state’s judiciary, calling it one of the most hardworking in Nigeria.
He made this statement over the weekend during the 88th birthday celebration of retired Chief Judge Godwin Ononiba and the public launch of his book, Wisdom On The Bench: The Enduring Legacies of Godwin Ude Ononiba.
At the event, Governor Soludo emphasized the dedication of Anambra judges, stating that they handle the highest number of court cases per judge in the country, second only to Lagos. He urged the judiciary to continue delivering justice and assured them of his support.
Former Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ilochi Okafor (SAN), who reviewed the book, also commended the new generation of judges in Anambra.
He described them as hardworking and eager to make a difference in the legal system. He added that these young judges need mentorship to develop further, highlighting Justice Ononiba as a great example.
The event, chaired by retired Supreme Court Justice Anthony Iguh, brought together respected judges and legal professionals from across Nigeria. It was a moment to honor Justice Ononiba’s legacy and recognize the dedication of Anambra’s judiciary in upholding justice.
