2026 WCQ, African zone: Full results of Friday’s matches

The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for Africa continued on Friday, with several teams securing important victories.

In Group C, Nigeria defeated Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali, thanks to two first-half goals from Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen. This win pushed Nigeria to fourth place in the group with six points. In another Group C match, South Africa won 2-0 against Lesotho, taking the top spot in the group.

In Group G, Algeria claimed a 3-1 victory over Botswana, while Côte d’Ivoire edged Burundi 1-0. Ghana delivered a dominant performance, crushing Chad 5-0, while Guinea and Somalia ended in a goalless draw.

In Group B, DR Congo secured a narrow 1-0 win against South Sudan.

In Group E, Morocco, the hosts of the 2025 AFCON, secured a 2-1 victory over Niger.
