Kano governor Abba Yusuf directs aides to declare assets

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has directed all political appointees in his administration to declare their assets in line with the Code of Conduct rules. He made this announcement during an Iftar (Ramadan breaking of fast) event at the Government House in Kano on Thursday, March 20.

Governor Yusuf stressed that many appointees had yet to comply with the asset declaration requirement. He estimated that about 60 to 70 percent of them had not completed the process. He urged them to quickly obtain, fill out, and submit the required forms to follow the law.

The governor also spoke to special advisers, reminding them of their responsibility to provide guidance and submit reports on governance. He encouraged them to actively monitor government affairs and offer both positive and critical advice.

During the event, Governor Yusuf announced that 13 Hajj seats had been allocated to the Heads of Government Agencies.

Dr. Rahila Mukhtar, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Health Care Management Agency (KCHIMA), thanked the governor on behalf of the appointees for his support.

Malam Umar Ibrahim, the Secretary to the State Government, reminded the appointees of their duty to serve with fairness and justice. He urged them to stay committed to the governor’s vision of improving the lives of Kano residents.
