Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he would like to seek advice from his teammate Luka Modric on how to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or.
The French star is widely regarded as one of the best footballers of his generation, but he has yet to win the award. When asked about it, he gave a lighthearted response, saying, “Ballon d’Or? I’m going to ask Luka Modric how to win it (laughs).”
Modric won the Ballon d’Or in 2018, breaking the decade-long dominance of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Mbappe made the comment before France’s 2-0 loss to Modric’s Croatia in the Nations League quarterfinals.
Last year, another Real Madrid player, Vinicius Jr, was a strong contender for the award but lost to Manchester City’s Rodri.
Mbappe’s dream of winning the Ballon d’Or remains alive, and with his talent, it may only be a matter of time before he achieves it.
