Nigerian football star Ademola Lookman has spoken about how special it feels to be named Africa’s Best Player. The Atalanta winger received the award in December in Marrakech, Morocco.
Lookman follows in the footsteps of his teammate and fellow Nigerian, Victor Osimhen, who won the same award in 2024. Speaking to NFF TV, Lookman described the honor as a “blessing” and something he holds with “great respect.”
“It’s a blessing, a pleasure, and most definitely an honor,” Lookman said. “To be among the great players who have won this award, including my teammate last year, Osimhen, is truly special.”
Right now, Lookman is focused on international duty as he joins Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Fans are eager to see him continue his impressive form on the pitch.
