Popular Nigerian comedian and activist, Adebowale “Debo” Adedayo, known as Mr Macaroni, has declared that he will continue to ignore Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at public events.
In the past, Mr Macaroni has been seen avoiding the governor at gatherings. On one occasion, he was pressured into greeting Sanwo-Olu. However, in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), he made it clear that he will not acknowledge the governor anymore.
Mr Macaroni wrote:
“This is the last time I will address this matter. It is not worth my peace of mind. Since you people won’t stop attacking me because I didn’t greet Governor Sanwo-Olu, next time I see him, I still won’t greet him. And this time, even if he calls me, I won’t answer. You people will cry today, tomorrow, and forever!”
Many believe Mr Macaroni’s refusal to greet the governor is linked to his 2021 arrest during the ENDSARS protest, where he was detained for speaking out against police brutality.
His statement has sparked reactions online, with some supporting his stance while others criticize him for not being respectful.
