EPL: Why Man City lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest – Guardiola

Manchester City suffered a 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest in their latest Premier League match. Manager Pep Guardiola explained that a single mistake in transition cost his team the game.

The match was evenly balanced at the City Ground, with both teams struggling to score. However, late in the game, Callum Hudson-Odoi made a quick run down the right side and managed to beat City’s goalkeeper, Ederson, with a well-placed shot.

Guardiola, speaking to BBC Match of the Day, said:

“It was a tight game. We controlled their long balls and second balls in transition. But in the second half, we lost focus once, and Callum Hudson-Odoi took his chance.”

He also admitted that playing against Nottingham Forest was difficult and that they deserved their win.

“We had three or four chances in the first half. The second half was even tighter, and they made the most of their opportunity,” Guardiola added.

With this loss, Manchester City remains in fourth place with 47 points. However, their position could change if Chelsea and Newcastle United win their upcoming matches.
