I don’t have to consult Tinubu to become Lagos Gov – Jandor

Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, has made it clear that he does not need to consult with President Bola Tinubu to become the governor of Lagos State.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Jandor explained that he remains committed to his political ambition and will continue his journey toward the 2027 Lagos governorship race.

Jandor started his political career with the All Progressives Congress (APC). However, in 2022, he left the party along with his Lagos4Lagos Movement and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He ran for governor in the 2023 election but lost to Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC, who was re-elected.

Recently, Jandor announced his departure from the PDP, accusing some party leaders of working against him. He said he had waited for the party’s national leadership to take action against those involved in anti-party activities, but instead, they were given leadership positions.

Despite leaving the PDP, Jandor is determined to contest the 2027 governorship election in Lagos. He is open to joining another political party to achieve his goal.

“We have chosen this path; we are not deviating. Only God can decide who and when,” he said.

Jandor also mentioned that he has not met with Tinubu since he left the APC in 2022, making it clear that his political journey is independent of the president’s influence.

As 2027 approaches, Lagos politics is expected to heat up, with Jandor positioning himself for another shot at the governorship seat.
