Abia PDP expels party’s BoT Chairman Adolphus Wabara

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has expelled Senator Adolphus Wabara, the Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT). The party accused him of working against its interests.

The expulsion was announced in Umuahia by Abia PDP Chairman, Abraham Amah, after a disciplinary committee reviewed Wabara’s actions. The committee had earlier suspended Wabara before deciding on his removal.

According to Amah, Wabara’s endorsement of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for a second term was considered disloyalty. The PDP believes that supporting a governor from another party goes against its principles.

Following Wabara’s expulsion, the Abia PDP has asked the party’s national leadership to appoint a new BoT Chairman.

At the time of this report, Wabara and his supporters have not made any public statements regarding his removal.
