Arsenal is close to appointing Andrea Berta as their new sporting director following Edu’s departure in November 2024.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Berta is now the top choice for the role. Talks have already taken place, and discussions are at an advanced stage, though nothing has been finalized yet.
Berta recently left Atlético Madrid after years of success, where he helped build a strong team with key signings. Arsenal hopes to finalize the appointment soon, as they search for a stable replacement.
Other names linked to the role include Real Sociedad’s Roberto Olabe, former Arsenal player Tomas Rosicky, and Dan Ashworth, who recently left Manchester United.
For now, Jason Ayto is handling the position on an interim basis. Arsenal fans will be eager to see if Berta takes over and how he can strengthen the club’s future.
