Mudashiru Obasa, the recently impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has revealed that he has been a loyal supporter of President Bola Tinubu since he left secondary school.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television program, Obasa responded to questions about the ongoing crisis in the Lagos Assembly.
Obasa recalled his long-standing connection with Tinubu, saying, “I have been following him since I just left secondary school. I even have pictures to prove it. During the Social Democratic Party (SDP) era, I contested as a delegate.”
He emphasized that he has always been a loyal follower of Tinubu and will remain so. “If some people are just realizing this now, then they were never really part of us from the beginning,” he added.
Regarding speculations about a disagreement with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Obasa dismissed such claims, stating that he has always worked well with the governor.
His impeachment and his attempt to hold a session with a few lawmakers have added to the tension within the Assembly. However, he remains firm in his stance and loyalty to Tinubu.
