Ian Wright reveals EPL club Isak will snub Arsenal for

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Newcastle striker Alexander Isak may turn down Arsenal and join another Premier League club this summer.

Isak is said to be Mikel Arteta’s dream signing as Arsenal looks to strengthen their attack. The Gunners have struggled with squad depth, especially after season-ending injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

Reports suggest Arsenal tried to sign Isak in January but backed out after Newcastle set a £120 million price tag. However, with Isak scoring 19 goals in 24 Premier League games this season, Arsenal may try again in the summer.

When asked if Isak would prefer Arsenal or Liverpool, Wright shared his thoughts on the Stick To Football podcast.

“He would probably go to Liverpool. I’d like to think Mikel Arteta could convince him, but look at Liverpool and Arne Slot. Slot hasn’t even got his own players in yet. That seems like a more attractive proposition. But again, Arsenal will need to do the work.

I would hate it if it was between Arsenal and Liverpool because he would probably go for Liverpool with the way it’s gone for Arne Slot.”

Wright fears that Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, could attract Isak, making it harder for Arsenal to sign him. The Gunners may need to work harder if they want to secure the talented striker this summer.
