Terrorists from Boko Haram launched a violent attack on Kwapre and nearby villages in New Yadul District, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
The attack began on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, around 7:30 p.m. and continued past midnight, leaving behind massive destruction.
Residents reported that the attackers set fire to churches, schools, houses, and businesses, destroying properties worth millions of naira. The village heads of Kwapre and King, Mr. Joel Kulaha and Abalis Jawaja, confirmed that the insurgents looted valuables before burning down buildings.
Thankfully, no lives were lost because residents fled before the attackers arrived. Mr. Kulaha described the devastation, saying, “We escaped with our lives, but everything we own is gone.”
Soldiers stationed in nearby Garaha responded in the early hours of the morning, engaging the terrorists and forcing them to retreat. However, residents believe the military arrived too late to prevent the destruction.
Now, the affected villages are left in ruins, with survivors facing an uncertain future as they try to rebuild their lives.
