Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, both British-American influencers, have left Romania after restrictions on their travel were lifted.
Reports suggest that the Trump administration pressured Romanian officials to allow them to leave, despite their ongoing legal troubles.
The brothers, who were arrested in 2022 for charges including human trafficking and forming an organized crime group, had been unable to leave Romania.
They spent months in detention and under house arrest before being allowed to travel. They have denied all accusations against them.
Sources say they left on a private jet using their US passports, heading to Florida. Their passports were reportedly returned after US officials, including Trump’s special envoy Richard Grenell, spoke with Romanian authorities earlier this month.
Despite leaving Romania, the case against them is still ongoing. The Romanian prosecutor’s office confirmed that the charges have not been dropped. A court in Bucharest has also ruled that they could be extradited to the UK, where they face similar charges.
The Tate brothers are expected to return to Romania by the end of March for further legal proceedings.
