Osun LG polls: DIG Ali commends police for peaceful efforts

Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ari Muhammed Ali has commended the Osun State Police Command for maintaining peace during the recent local government elections.

In a statement by the Osun Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Yemisi Opalola, DIG Ali made these remarks during his visit to the state on Tuesday. His visit aimed to assess security operations after the elections.

Representing the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, DIG Ali expressed his satisfaction with the professionalism and dedication of the officers.

He praised the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Umar Abba, for his leadership in ensuring a safe election period.

“I want to thank you for your service to the nation and the police force. The IGP appreciates your dedication and professionalism,” DIG Ali said.

He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by officers to protect lives and property during the elections.

During his visit, he inspected police facilities and interacted with officers, encouraging them to stay committed to their duty of keeping the public safe.

DIG Ali highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and local communities. He urged officers to continue building trust with the people to maintain peace and security in the state.

He also assured that the Force Headquarters would continue to support security efforts in Osun State.
