2026 World Cup qualifiers: Troost-Ekong doubtful for Rwanda, Zimbabwe games

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, is currently injured and may not be available for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

The defender, who plays for Saudi club Al Kholood, has missed his team’s last two matches because of a muscle injury. However, his club has not yet provided an official update on his condition.

Nigeria’s head coach, Eric Chelle, will be hoping that Troost-Ekong recovers in time to join the squad. The team is already dealing with injuries to key players like Semi Ajayi, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and Raphael Onyedika, making the situation more challenging.

The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, March 21, before hosting Zimbabwe four days later. Fans will be eagerly waiting for updates on Troost-Ekong’s fitness before these crucial games.
