They jumped like monkeys – Mourinho in trouble after Fenerbache’s draw with Galatasaray

Fenerbahçe manager, Jose Mourinho, may face legal trouble over comments he made after his team’s 0-0 draw against Galatasaray on Monday.

The result keeps Fenerbahçe six points behind their rivals in the Turkish Super Lig. After the match, Mourinho praised the referee but made a statement that has caused controversy.

Speaking about an incident during the game, Mourinho said:

“In the situation I mentioned, everyone on the opposing bench was jumping around like monkeys. If it were a Turkish referee, they would have immediately given the card, and I would have had to take the player off in a minute. It was a great match for him.”

Galatasaray responded strongly to Mourinho’s words, calling them unacceptable. The club has announced plans to take legal action against him.

In an official statement, Galatasaray accused Mourinho of making offensive comments toward Turkish people. They also said they would report him to UEFA and FIFA.

“Since the start of his time in Türkiye, Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho has continuously made negative comments about Turkish people. Today, his words have crossed the line into unacceptable and inhumane speech.

We will begin legal action regarding the racist statements made by Jose Mourinho and will report him to UEFA and FIFA. We will also monitor how Fenerbahçe, a club that claims to have strong moral values, responds to their manager’s behavior.”

This controversy adds more tension to the fierce rivalry between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray. It remains to be seen how UEFA, FIFA, and Fenerbahçe will react to the situation.
