Rapper Megan Thee Stallion wins ruling to depose Tory Lanez in prison for defamation lawsuit

Megan Thee Stallion has been given permission to question Tory Lanez under oath as part of her defamation lawsuit. A federal judge approved her request, allowing the Grammy-winning rapper to conduct a video deposition while Lanez serves his 10-year prison sentence.

Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, filed a lawsuit against YouTube blogger Milagro Gramz (real name Milagro Cooper), accusing her of spreading false and harmful claims. She believes Lanez supported these actions and used Gramz to harass her online.

Megan sued Gramz in October, claiming she led a campaign to damage her reputation. The blogger allegedly accused Megan of alcoholism, claimed she needed a guardian, and even promoted a fake explicit video of her. Megan also says Gramz acted as Lanez’s spokesperson, spreading false claims about the 2020 shooting.

A Florida judge recently ruled that Megan’s lawsuit can continue, stating she made a strong case that Gramz spread false information recklessly

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted of shooting Megan in the feet during a 2020 altercation. He is currently appealing his conviction, so he may refuse to answer certain deposition questions by invoking his Fifth Amendment rights.

In addition to this lawsuit, Megan recently won a five-year restraining order against Lanez. A judge ruled that Lanez must stay at least 100 yards away from her and stop any form of harassment until 2030.

Megan has been fighting to clear her name and stop online harassment. With the court allowing her to question Lanez, the lawsuit will move forward as she seeks justice against those she says tried to ruin her reputation.
