Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has shared his thoughts after his team was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League.
Haaland, who missed the second-leg match against Real Madrid due to a knee issue, said Manchester City would come back stronger. He also emphasized that the team remains united despite the defeat.
Real Madrid defeated Man City 3-1 in the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. In the first leg, Haaland played as City lost 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium.
Before the match, Man City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, revealed that Haaland was not fit to start due to his injury.
After the loss, Haaland posted a message on social media on Thursday, encouraging his teammates and fans.
“We remain as one. Sometimes, you have to experience this and learn from it. You can’t always win. We’ll rise again together,” he wrote.
Haaland has been one of the top scorers in the Champions League this season, scoring eight goals. The 24-year-old now hopes to recover in time for Man City’s Premier League match against Liverpool this weekend.
