On 15 February 2025, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out a precise airstrike in Zakka, Katsina State, that neutralized several bandits and stopped their attack on Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel.
The operation was part of the larger effort under Operation FASAN YANMA to keep the region secure.
The airstrike was launched after intelligence revealed that bandits were planning to attack a PMF location in the area.
The bandits had already killed two PMF officers and four members of the local vigilante group. The NAF located the bandits on Yauni Hill, nearby, and quickly engaged the targets.
The NAF emphasized that it operates with strict rules of engagement and works to ensure the safety of civilians and the security of the nation.
Following the success of the mission, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, called for an investigation into the operation to verify the details and ensure proper actions are taken.
This airstrike shows the NAF’s dedication to its mission of protecting Nigerian citizens and maintaining security in challenging times.
The NAF has assured the public that it remains committed to professionalism and transparency as the investigation continues.
