In Miami, Florida, a man named Mordechai Brafman shot and injured a father and son on a beach.
According to reports, he told the police that he fired his gun because he thought the two victims were Palestinians.
The Miami Herald stated that Brafman claimed he saw “two Palestinians” while driving his truck and decided to shoot. However, police have not confirmed whether the victims were actually Palestinian.
They only mentioned that the two were visiting from Israel and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
This incident is part of a rising trend of violent attacks against Palestinians and people perceived to be Palestinians in the United States. In September, a woman in Texas was accused of trying to drown a three-year-old Palestinian-American girl.
These events have occurred as tensions remain high due to the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict. The war escalated on October 7, 2023, after an attack on Israel by Hamas. In response, Israel began bombing Gaza and launched a ground invasion on October 27.
Violence related to international conflicts is affecting people in different parts of the world, including the U.S. Authorities are investigating the Miami shooting while the victims recover in the hospital.
