Unizik expels student who fought her lecturer after he interrupted her dance video

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka, has expelled a student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chiamaka Precious, after a viral incident where she fought a lecturer, Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye.

The university management announced that her expulsion takes effect immediately.

According to the university’s statement, the incident involved Dr. Okoye from the Department of Theatre Arts and Film Studies.

Precious, a 300-level student in the Department of History and International Studies, was found guilty of gross misconduct for physically attacking the lecturer.

The Students Disciplinary Committee (SDC) reviewed the case thoroughly and determined that her actions violated the university’s disciplinary regulations.

Based on the committee’s recommendation, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, approved her immediate expulsion.

The university has instructed Precious to leave the campus immediately and return all school property in her possession.

Unizik’s management emphasized its commitment to maintaining discipline, ensuring a safe learning environment, and upholding the institution’s integrity.

This incident serves as a reminder to students about the importance of following university rules and handling conflicts in a respectful manner.
