Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made it clear that he will only meet Russian leader Vladimir Putin under one condition—after first agreeing on a common plan with former US President Donald Trump.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelensky stressed that Trump plays a key role in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. He also revealed that Trump had given him his direct phone number before the conference.

Earlier this week, Trump’s conversation with Putin caused a stir, as it appeared to disrupt the long-standing US support for Ukraine.
