On Sunday, February 9, 2025, gunmen killed Reverend Bala Galadima, the presiding pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Lubo, a community in Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State. The attack happened in the early hours of the morning.

According to the State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the incident appears to be a robbery attempt.

He explained that the attackers entered the pastor’s house at night, and the pastor was likely shot while trying to escape.

The body of the pastor was taken to the hospital, and the Commissioner of Police, Bello Yahaya, visited the scene.

He assured the public that a special squad had been assigned to maintain peace and that the culprits would be caught and brought to justice.

A local resident named Ahmadu shared more details, saying the gunmen initially visited the ECWA Church before moving to a nearby compound where they stole some money. They didn’t target the pastor specifically.

However, when Reverend Galadima heard noises outside and peeked out, he was shot in the back.
