Bello El-Rufai, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North and son of former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, has shared his thoughts on the reported conflict between his father and Governor Uba Sani.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Bello said he was unhappy about the situation but made it clear that it was not his job to reconcile them.
He described his father as his role model and Uba Sani as his boss but insisted that his main duty is to serve the people of Kaduna North.
Bello pointed out that some people seem to be enjoying the disagreement, comparing it to the famous Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra fighting.
He also mentioned that he would only engage in social media battles if he truly believed in a cause, as he had done in the past.
Reflecting on the rift, Bello said life is unpredictable—friendships can end, and relationships can change, but people should not completely abandon their friends.
He admitted he did not know how his father and Uba Sani first became close, but he never expected them to quarrel. He also said neither of them had spoken to him about any dispute, leaving him unsure whether the rift is real or just speculation.
Bello concluded by expressing his hope for peace, stating that he does not enjoy seeing conflicts, even between people who do not get along.
