A woman has been arrested in Rivers State for allegedly killing her neighbor with a stone during an argument. The incident happened in the Railway area of Elekahia, Port Harcourt.

The victim, an elderly man named Augustine, was resting in front of his home after returning from work. The woman accused him of defecating behind the compound, which led to a heated argument.

Augustine, who was over 60 years old, was upset by the accusation and questioned how an elderly man could do such a thing, especially when there were children around.

The woman became angry, threw sand at Augustine, and a physical fight broke out. During the struggle, she allegedly picked up a stone and struck him on the head.

Augustine later died from his injuries after being taken to several hospitals, where he was turned away before being confirmed dead at the third hospital.

A witness, Onyedikachi, who saw the incident, confirmed the details. The police were called, and the woman was arrested.

During questioning, she denied hitting Augustine with the stone. She claimed that the man had struck her in the nose and that his children were also involved in the fight, throwing stones at her. She said the stone hit Augustine accidentally while she was trying to dodge.

The police have transferred the case to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department for further investigation. The woman remains in custody, and she may face charges once the investigation is complete.
