Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has revealed that former Nigerian international, Jay-Jay Okocha, is his biggest football idol.

Iwobi has been outstanding for Fulham this season, showing confidence and skill in tough situations. He credits Okocha, who is also his uncle, for shaping his football journey.

Speaking on the Is This Seat Taken podcast, Iwobi shared how Okocha’s influence has helped him both on and off the field.

“In sports, my idol will always be my uncle, Jay-Jay Okocha. I have to appreciate him all the time,” Iwobi said.

He recalled watching Okocha play and attend training sessions, which inspired him to express himself on the pitch.

“Off the field, he always gives me advice—how to be professional, manage my money, stay humble, and grounded,” he added.

The former Arsenal player emphasized that Okocha’s impact goes beyond football, making him a role model for life.
