Wike: No Need To Panic, Tinubu’s Policies Will Deliver

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has reassured Nigerians not to worry despite the ongoing economic challenges. He believes that the policies put in place by President Bola Tinubu are meant to take the country to greater heights.

Wike made these comments on Wednesday after he and a group of former Governors visited Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to offer their condolences following the death of his elder brother, Sunday Makinde.

Wike was accompanied by former Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and several Senators. They were warmly received at Governor Makinde’s residence.

During the visit, Wike pointed out that Nigerians often forget the country’s struggles. He reminded them that just a few years ago, Nigeria faced serious challenges. Despite temporary discomfort caused by some of President Tinubu’s policies, Wike emphasized the importance of patience, as these measures are crucial for long-term progress.

“We have to be patient,” Wike said. “It’s not an overnight change. The country was in a tough situation before, and now there are efforts in place to improve things. People will feel the effects, but we’ll see positive results in the long run.”

He also assured Nigerians that President Tinubu’s intentions are good for the country, and better days are ahead.

Wike’s visit to Governor Makinde was to express sympathy for his personal loss. He spoke about the close relationship they shared, especially through the G5 Governors forum. He offered prayers for the family, asking for strength to cope with the sad loss.

Wike closed his remarks with a message of hope, trusting that God would give the Makinde family the strength to bear the loss.
