In a fresh political clash in Rivers State, the Emeka Beke-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Tony Okocha of attempting to force former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, out of the party. According to the faction, Okocha’s ongoing criticism of Amaechi is part of a larger plan to push him out of APC.
Okocha recently called Amaechi a failed politician, claiming that he didn’t bring any projects to Rivers State during his tenure as Minister. This attack did not sit well with the Beke faction, who argue that Okocha is using Amaechi’s name to damage his reputation and gain political leverage.
Darlington Nwauju, the spokesman for the faction, responded strongly, questioning Okocha’s motives. He pointed out that Okocha’s focus on criticizing Amaechi was aimed at creating division within the APC, weakening the influence of key party figures like Amaechi, who played a significant role in building the party in the state.
The feud has sparked fresh tensions in Rivers State politics, with APC members urging Okocha to reconsider his approach and work towards unity instead of division.
