Transfer deadline: Wright leaves Etihad, Man City confirm fourth signing for Guardiola

On deadline day, Manchester City secured the signing of Nico Gonzalez from Porto, marking the club’s fourth acquisition in the winter transfer window. The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at the Premier League champions until 2029.

Gonzalez joins a list of recent signings, including Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis, and Omar Marmoush. Speaking about the move, Gonzalez shared his excitement, saying, “This is the perfect opportunity for me at this stage of my career. I am 23 and want to test myself in England. There’s no better club than Manchester City for me to do that.”

In another update, Manchester City confirmed that 19-year-old Jacob Wright has moved to Norwich City on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. Wright, who has made four senior appearances for City, will now continue his development at Carrow Road.

Everyone at Manchester City wishes Jacob well for the rest of the season as he looks to gain more experience in the Championship.
